The Akara Factory is the Foodservice component of the Baobab Concierge Services Group that also engages in philanthropy for the Ndeye and Babou Jobe Fund and Hospitality Consultancy
Our Mom started making frozen Akara for my brother Ousman Jobe and I Binta Jobe in 1981 about 40 years ago during my father; H.E Ambassador Babou Jobe’s stint as a Diplomat and Civil Servant for 60 years for the Republic of The Gambia 🇬🇲
She told me before she passed on that she wanted us to have a company exclusively making Akara on 28th June 2005 on her 59th Birthday.
In the last 16 years, so many family and friends helped me achieve her dream, her Sister Chairperson, Mrs. Kinay Gaye, CEO Nancy Njie and VP Chan Khan Jallow who used her legendary fashion house for 5 years as an outlet for me to sell my products when I had nowhere else.
